Hello All,

In the course of building several computers over the past few years, I have looked at many RAM product listings on Newegg. I have noticed what seems to be a disproportionate number of users report bad memory modules, e.g., buy two sticks and discover one is bad. I have experienced this problem myself twice, with modules from whom I consider to be reputable memory manufacturers. As an electronic engineer, I know how to handle static-sensitive components, so I am pretty sure I didn't damage the module.

While I can imagine that there are some users who somehow damage their RAM, it doesn't seem reasonable to assume that most (or all) of these bad modules are the result of user abuse. My (rhetorical?) question: Why does it seem that so many "bad" memory modules are making it into the distribution channel?

I welcome your thoughts on this subject.

Regards,

Altazi
