When you try to compare a 2900XT to a 8800GTS 320,or the 8600,you of course find the 2900 to be the better performer. Now put that same card against a 8800GT or GTX,and you'll have a completely different outcome. The 2900XT was brought out to compete directly with the 8800GTX,but it can't even beat the 8800GT 512 except in the odd game.So there you have it.

according to the power consumption... 8800gts only need 200watt with entire pc setup while on load.. isn't thats mean we only need a psu with ensuring it has at least 17A then it already power up the entire system? excluding the aging problem.

moreover, they use x6800 while for those normal user who using e6750 or q6600, aren't it require less power?

Yeah the gtx is expensive. But the 8800 GT should have been in this review I think, it's cheaper then hd2900xt and it's very close to the gtx in performance.

This was a great review, although they put the wrong picture of the HIS IceQ Turbo on the last page...

Good to see the hard numbers, too....looks like, based on overall FPS versus the charts, that ATI squeezed about 9% more performance out of the HD 2600XT since launch...and since it's THG, I'm taking it as both a fact, and a reconciliation with readers who felt the product was being unfairly handled with respect to older cards.

Good job, THG!

The HIS Radeon HD 2600 XT has built in audio so it can pass it through HDMI. Also I noticed that the review complained that it did not come with an HDMI adapter. The one I purchased from New Egg had a DVI to HDMI adaptor. Perhaps they do not include one in Europe or newer packages lack them.
