Hey guys,

Wondering if someone can help me out. I have a 10 year old Linsys router that is need of replacement. I'm looking for the best router for gaming/torrent (mine has to be constantly reset because it plugs up due to torrents). I'm not sure if its worth buying the 300 dollar routers or is the 60 dollar ones good enough. Linksys used to be on top, but ive heard lately they arent that good.

I have a newer Macbook as well so an N router might be a better option but i dont think its essential. My main concern is gaming/ torrents. Also my iPhone can't connect to my current router.

Thanks in advance,

Konrad

Consumer-class routers aren't designed for handling heavy traffic, but I don't have disconnects with my DIR-625.

802.11n gives you a bigger range so you can move around at home with your macbook no problem.

The AirPort Extreme scores very high in most reviews. It'll be a few clicks away to connect your macbook to it.

Is it worth spending 200 bucks or will a $60 linksys do for what im looking for?

Thanks,

I'd say not. Gaming ya, torrents, thats a risky game to play. Internet throttling as INTERNET providers say. Well BS its monitoring our usages who gives them the right to provide such lousy service, specially when the customer even pays more for the extra bandwidth. Up grade of your linksys is good.
