hello everyone. I was recently at one of my friends houses and using their computer when the logitech g15 keyboard backlight turned off. so i pressed the button to turn it on and it did not. then the mouse stoped working. well it looks like 2 usb ports are dead on the back one only allows a usb light to work and the other allows my ancient mouse to work. please help.

It's probably a hardware failure. Try defaulting the BIOS. Check the device manager for problems relating to the USB controllers. See if there are any USB mobo headers that you can use.

well windows sees no problems, the headers work since the usb ports are in use, and nothing has changed in the bios.

but the thing is if its failed why does it still deliver power to my usb light. Or is it my G15 its one of the very first ones.

Good question. Try the keyboard in another machine or try a USB thumb drive to see if the USB in question works.

nope keyboard works on other computers, but could the keyboard cause it to fail or is it because of faulty manuf

Only God knows for sure, but if the keyboard works on other mobos without damaging them and you can't find another cause I would suspect a mobo failure.

You might try another known good USB connector on the same mobo.
