If you just need a computer and are not going to OC and are not much of a gamer, you should search FatWallet or Slick Deals for a Dell deal.

BF is coming and Dell will pull down their pants.

I would guess you could get an e2160 + 20" monitor + 2GB + 250GB HD + 8300 video card for less than $600 if they do what they did last year.

Why don't you list what you need? I just put out a system w/o OS or monitor, keyboard, mouse. If those are needed than I'd definately do it different.

The E2160, or E2180 are good buys, though AMD may have a cheaper option. MicroATX is cheaper than a full ATX mobo. Also seeing as the mobo and cpu will be cheap, I would think you will be paying more for your RAM. 2gb ddr2 800mhz is around $120 CAD. Though most have rebates. good luck with your build.

i only want to deal with newegg! can i get a better bang for the buck build?
the only thing i didn't mention is the video card because i will be waiting for prices to drop on a certain one and i also mentioned things i didn't need on my previous post on top. Other than that, do i need anything else? like do i need thermal grease for the cpu fan above? am i missing any little things like that? i plan to overclock the e2160 to the 3.0ghz or higher range. is it possible? does everything look good? please tell me anything i need to know!

will the most recent setup i posted up there be able to over clock to 3.0 ghz or higher? should i get artic silver 5? is that fan good? am i ready to order

The freezer pro comes with a small supply of silver 5 unless they have changed it. Never hurts to have some spare anyway in case you mess up. You should easily get to 3.0 or beyond, however, once you get it built, let it run for a day or so. Get some benchmarking programs such as 3d mark, Sandra, etc... and run them a few times to burn it in. If all is stable, then you can try over clock slowly, and steadily.
