I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro mobo w/ nForce n250 chipset. Recently my PC began to freeze. The only fix was a reboot by way of the Panic Button or Power Switch. When I ran MEMTEST for 8 hours, everything came back okay. When I pulled the Kingston HyperX KHX3200AK2/512 modules, the problem went away. I replaced the modules under Kingston warranty and as soon as I put the new one back in, the PC froze. Remove the Kingston, no freeze.
All memory speeds are set to factory defaults and the modules were what were recommended by the Kingston memory configurator. So, is it wrong memory or a bad memory controller? The primary stick is a PNY 1GB in memory slot one. As soon as I put the Kingstons in w/o the PNY, the PC froze.

Try bumping up the memory voltage. AMD nForce2 chipsets can be picky about RAM.

Well, I upped the voltage to 2.6 (the base is 2.5). As soon as I installed the other two modules, the system hung. So, as far as I'm concerned, my mobo is now a door stop. Thanks for the help.
