More Information

Hi. I recently discovered I could obtain a license for windows server 2003 standard edition from Microsoft's Dreamspark program as I'm a student. So I downloaded and installed it onto an old machine to play around with it a bit, set up a file server, DNS server, etc..

It all worked fine until I set up a VPN service. Now, I can't connect to any network shares on the server without having to connect through a VPN connection, even though the server's just on the switch.

How can I set it up so that I can still access the server normally but people can also VPN in through the internet?

not sure if this is it,

But from the computer that you're connecting from, find the connection icon in the bottom right corner, right click it...

there is a setting somewhere in there that says "use gateway on remote site" or something like that. Sorry for being vague, i can't bring up a vpn right now.

I will check later and repost w\ better detail on where to find this setting.
