Where did the ASUS XG station go? Several articles says that it should have been released Q2 2007?

My portable PC is great except for the GPU. So this product would have been ideal. Alas I cant make heads or tails of wether it ever will be released. No news on the ASUS page as i can see.

The latest information I've seen is here:

I have a feeling they hit issues with Vista and/or DX10 cards and want it working flawlessly before release. ASUS has a reputation of releasing only rock-solid products (not that they always succeed), and I suspect this one didn't meet their standards.

Isn't the ExpressCard slot limited to a PCI-Ex1 throughput? If so, wouldn't that limit the performance of today's high-end graphic cards (the ones people would want to use with the XG Station) as per Tom's Hardware article - PCI-Express Scaling Analysis?

Those benches were done at 1600x1200 though. I wonder if performance would take less of a hit in a lower resolution like, say, 1280x1024.
