Using Windows XP Home. SP2, Toshiba Satellite 1905.
Often from cold boot, machine immediately logs off. On the next boot no
problem.
All updates done regularly. Mcafee anti virus, MS antispyware, Spybot search
& destroy, windows, zone alarm,

Consistent problems from a cold boot are often a sign of driver or hardware
problems. When you try to start again, there is no difference in the code
that is loaded but components are slightly warmed from the previous
attempt. This is why a problem device is a possible explanation.
