New Rig build help

I am building a new rig around the Christmas time and and I am going from an AMD system to an intel based rig, so I have limited parts that will carry over the parts that I can still use are my DVD burner and my HDD other than that nothing else is salvageable for the new rig. Here is what i got so far for my current Hardware for the new build

Any suggestions on what board CPU mem or anything will help, keep in mind that I plan on going SLI just not atm and I have and $800 budget( give or take ) any help will be greatly appreciated

I agree with everything that ramo said.

On another note, if the 8800GT is just a bit too expensive for you, I would atleast consider an X1950Pro instead of that 8600GT.
 


But then you'll need a better HSF.

When you do get all of your parts, I recommend breadboarding the system. That way, you can test all of the parts before you put them in the case.

I really havnt overclocked much I have used software to do so, I play at the max res with the LCD I have its a 17". But if I learned and did some over clocking I would be willing to spend a little more money on an aftermarket HSF

If youre gaming at 1280x1024 a sigle card will be enough

The following boards are all good

Asus PK5
Abit P35 pro
Gigabyte P35-DS3R

There are lots off guides on the web to OC your cpu
You could buy a Freezer 7 Pro (Artic-cooling) to do some light OCing
