As much as I told myself not to pay extra money for unneeded video memory, I end up doing it.

The price just didn't seem much higher to go from 256 to 512mb of memory on my 8600 GTS, but apparently it doesn't really make a difference on the card. Bad mistake I guess.

I could pay 170$ USD for a 756Mhz clocked 8600 GTS 256mb
instead I paid 205$ USD for a 675Mhz clocked 8600 GTS 512mb

Heres my pickle... I cant deal with the company I originally got my video card from, newegg, because I sent in a mail-in rebate already. I have an idea and I'm wondering if it will work.

The rebate showed up invalid with the rebate company I sent it to. Would it be possible to ask for my UPC label back, and maybe tape it back onto the box, and send it in as if I never mailed in for a rebate?
