I've found a place which have standard 8800gt in stock. However, the company only offers a years warranty. This isn't really a problem as I may have bought a new card by then.

The choices I have are:

1. Buy the standard 8800gt
2. Wait till the 23rd and buy the EVGA 8800gt Superclocked

What would you pick?

Or you could wait till the 19th and then buy a ATI HD3870 :-)

I assume you mean galaxy for the 1 year company. Do you believe you will keep the 8800GT for more than a year?

Why because it's slower and cheaper?

Get the Evga if you plan on possibly upgrading in 90days if the new G92 based 8800GTS comes out. Otherwise get whichever

Actually the 3870 is not slower in all the benchies.. Plus Its much newer than the gt. wait a week or two for the new drivers (hi rez problem plus general performance issues). I'm sure we'll see a noticible improvement on the new 55mm die cards. Should make it an overall much better option to the GT. As far as frame rate to price (and yes - price is an important factor for some, solid) the 3870 clearly is already better than the gt.. My new system will have CFed 3870 and a Penrym (not a total AMD fanboy..) Cant wait for the new CPU benchies.. Strange how the new (112sps) 8800 gts doesn't seem to get any coverage considering it's performance skewing the GT even further from the GTX (price must be a tad ott..)

Let the 8800gt vs 3870 war begin!!

(sigh..)

What do you mean the 23rd? I thought it was supposed to have a 2ed wave restock by the end of this week? I've been waiting since 10/29 the day of release, and my order status is still 'sent to warehouse' does anyone know of a real defined restock date for all retailers?
