I'm finally there. At 12,060 3Dmark06 score and a Phenom that can hit 2.6GHz on stock voltage. Now I see where Phenom is going. I'm going to let it burn in at 2.6GHz for a while then try 2.7GHz, 2.8GHz, 2.9GHz, and hopefully 3.0GHz.

Good luck on that, 3GHz is gonna be tough.

I got mine to 2.8GHz to boot up to Vista on defualt voltages but was a bit unstable so I've added .0125v to the CPU even though CPUz dose show it that is not the voltage. http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/5098/2800ql6.jpg

only thing now is. How much longer will my rosewill PSU keep up before breaking down. But I think I'll have np getting this to 3.0GHz.

was able to hit 3.0GHz to get into Vista and take a screen shot before I had a BSOD about the secondary CPU. I was able to get 2.9GHz with 1.2875v but the third core failed to be stable and 4hours after raising the VID again I decieded to go back to 2.8GHz to burn in more sence there is where I think I need to be right now. http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/6901/2900ht2.jpg

@blackpanther - can you run your chip through my x264 encoding benchmark at the stock and o/c'ed settings?

Reply to graysky

That's an excellent OC, considering it's a Phenom B2. Could you run 3dmark06 for stock settings and then OCed settings?

stock settings I got around 10970. Right now I'm burning in 2.9GHz sence it's been nearly 20 hours or so sence it crashed which ment I up'ed the CPU Voltage and has been stable. I want to get to 3GHz by this weekend and bench. The TLB errata fix is off. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=5422438

Quick question, do you have Cool and Quiet disabled in Bios, and do you have spread spectrum disabled in bios? I noticed the odd clock speed, that usually points to spread spectrum. Disabling them both usually nets more stability at lower voltage.

well I had to go back to 2.8GHz sence at 2.9GHz I think I was running into a problem with keeping my system up when I was playing Dawn of War. Where I got an error on the secondary CPU core clock. "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within an allocated time"
Error 0x101

I do have a 600 Watt rosewill PSU powering an 8800 Ultra as well. So when I get money I'm going to get a 800 Watt PSU.

I returned the CPU to the reseller and got mine in 5 days from the time I shiped it out.

temps at 2.9GHz load was at 41c with the tunic tower. I'm thinking of lapping my CPU and heatsink so I can hoppfully get to 3.4GHz.

2.9GHz benchmark link. http://service.futuremark.com/...8 [...] ultType=14

I don't really know where to find spread spectrum but Cool n' Quiet is disabled.

3.4? Phenom? that'll be the first i hear of it...

on Ebay some one claims to get 3.2GHz out of his Phenom and is for sale. Every CPU is different.

On your board it would be under advanced, jumper free tab in the bios. PLL1 and PLL2 spread spectrum, appears that yours may come factory disabled, but I know on some boards, its enabled by default.

it is disabled. I think it happens to be that my PSU is out of juice to get 2.9GHz stable under stress. I can boot to Vista to but trying to get into Vista the status bar goes across the screen but no hard drive movement.

You have a Rosewill 600W PSU and a Ultra, so yeah, maybe the PSU is holding you back.

Can someone reccomend a 120mm fan?
By jsc, 15 hours ago:

Go to newegg. Look at the 12 cm fans. Make a table of rated airflow vs. noise (dBA). Don't consider really cheap fgans or fans above your budget. I further discriminate on the type of bearings. I do not like sleeve bearings.
