It's quite good for a HTPC, and will allow for some moderate gaming if you choose so. Although I would suggest an 2600XT with an HDMI port if your going to be using a reciever.
Like Jaguar says, the newer cards offer better HD acceleration, but if you're just watching standard DVDs etc, then get the GF7600GT.
The GF7600GS would be ok too, but you would lose out on a few PurevideoHD features so stick with at least the GF7600GT if you go that route.
Personally though, I would recommend the HD2600 series, and really a solid PRO would be fine and be a better power/heat fit IMO than an XT. Don't go with the HD2400 though if you want all the nice little features like jaggie and noise reduction.
