Ok I've got an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ and am wondering when you are talking about temps are you talking about both cores temp added together or are you saying for example that each core's highest temp should not go over 50c???

well i was not sure as my 4200+ at idle is 8-10c and highest i have gotten it at full load is 35c and that was after 20min full load both cores

how would you suggest testing the stability of my system? I just OCed it up to 2758MHz roughly 25% with a core voltage of 1.26-1.28 and have had no problams so far I just want to be sure it will be ok.

No its not watercooled those temp readings were from when it was running stock. now that its at 2805MHz 1.28v full load temps are up to 48c, and I have check using three different utlities and thats after 8hrs of prime95. I must say tho that I have roughly 100cfm flowing through my case. with a room temp of about 70f sounds like a small hand vac but i dont care it runs cool!

Think logically for a second.

70 F = 21 C.

You are saying you idle at 8-10 C. That is impossible without either active heat rejection or other cold objects (LN2, DI.. etc). Active heat rejection would be evaporative cooling (like when you sweat, or how a refridgerator works) or with a Peltier Cooling Device.

Even the best water cooling system in the world will not produce below ambient temperatures without active heat rejection (chiller, ice box, etc). You are still using ambient air to cool water.

When you *DO* go below ambient temperature you have a wealth of other problems such as condensation. I can't find my Pshychrometric chart at the moment but 70 F and a humidity level of 50-60% (this is normal humidity for a comfortable space) you would have condensation forming around your CPU if it was actually at 8-10C.

100 CFM isn't that much, I use more than that just on my CPU heatsink when Benchmarking.

However, Evilonigiri already answered your original question... I just miss going off on random tangents.

you raise a good point I have no clue why everest is telling me this then. how many fans do you run and what type??? sounds like i need to upgrade.

I use an Ultra Kaze on my CPU fan, 3 Yate Loon 90 CFM fans on the case, and a Corsair Dominator RAM Cooler.

They are all ran on a Sumbeam Rheobus to undervolt them when I'm not benchmarking so it doesn't sound like an airplane taking off.
