without connecting it to a mobo?

It has begun to make an unpleasant noise (something vibrating), and I need to check it outside the mobo.

Will a short somewhere make it work without plugging it to a mobo?.
... but where?.

Regards.

I have found my Antec PSU tester to be the easiest way. Here are some others as well.

A digital Volt meter is also handy to have.
Here is a pinout of the main connector. Black wires are ground.

I didn't mean that.

The problem is that the PSU does no work without a mobo, and I need to check it outside the case and without a mobo.

So I need to make a short or something in the wires of the PSU to make it work by itself, open it and find the source of the noise.

Thank you, anyway. Regards.
