Pc for a friend

My friend is asking me to build him a computer just for gaming. Hes going to use some of hes old sytem hardware (Hard Drive, Case, DVD-RW,sound card, 22'' NEC CRT Monitor, Water Cooler). There will little bit overclocking on Cpu 3.4 and video card as well. The System will be configure in SLI. Hes Budget is under $1200. Any changes should be made? Pc will be running Triple Boot (winxp, Vista Premium 64bit, Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty)

  1. looks solid, i wanted to recommend Q6600 too , but if its only for gaming, then E6850 will do better in current games

  3. If there is going to be OCing on the CPU and GPU, there is a good probability that your temperatures might get a little high. I would make sure there is enough fans/adequate airflow/maybe a heatsink.

  5. Save some cash and get the E6750 if you are going to OC.
    The end result will be the same.

    Get 4GB of RAM since you are going Vista64.
  6. I agree 4GB of RAM would be a good investment see as your using Vista x64.
