Lol, I got my superclocked 8800GT at $230 (Fry's preoder, did take an extra week before it arrived).

Wondering if there's going to be sites with cheaper 3870, <$235, the price at which my friend wants to buy it at.

You are getting two free games worth $70 USD with it, though.

Diamond's website has it for $229.99... http://www.diamondmm.com/3870PE4512.php

It doesn't show that it comes with any games though, just so you know.

Reply to descalada

just ordered 2x3870 from ncix for $239.99.

Can't wait to put them in my asus x38 Quad system.

Call of Juarez, and Valve Black box included.

Reply to DrMaV

With Valve Black box, it sounds like a good deal. I'm curious to see what other sites bundle with it first though...

wow ati could have a busy christmas coming up. They could do with the hard cash me thinks.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but on the Diamond website link given above from descalada, although the title says it's an ATI 3870, all the details given are for the 3850. WTH is going on?

Actually the details are correct for the 3870. You can see both side by side here: http://www.diamondmm.com/viper.php 3870 @ $229 3850 @ $180

Does the diamond 3870 come with any games?

Reply to HammerOfJustice

I just oreded HIS 3870 with the 2 free games (Call of Juarez and Valve's Black Box). I thought Black Box was canceled so that might be just 1 free game.

No he's right, under the Specifications it says 3850, and also under "Package Includes" it says the same thing. I just took it as a typo. And when I take a closer look, not everything else checks out right. 512mb RAM, 775mhz core clock seem correct, but depending on where you look it shows the memory speed at 1.2 or 1.4ghz... Shouldn't be that way.

Anyway there are a few things that are a little awry with these two pages, you're right. I only noticed what you talked about, where it said "3850", but since I wasn't buying one from that site (at least yet), I didn't look any closer.

*Edit: It's orderable again, and they did fix where it says 3850 instead of 3870! There's one error, lets see if they can catch the other one...

After my HIS 9800 pro died a month after the one year warranty was up I'm hesitant to to by an ATI card. I think I heard that Sapphire had a lifetime warranty but what about Diamond? Anyone know?

i know how you feel. All ATI companies have a 1 year warranty..even Sapphire. The only ones that have life time are Powercolor...and Visiontek...i believe..

Reply to qmalik

newegg actually has better prices

Reply to desidude006

i had a short list for christmas that included a great midrange card at about $250. what i got was exactly that. except they are ALL OUT OF STOCK. i had the same experience with buy.com not shipping out, and i ordered the 8800gt on launch day. great cards, but performance and price doesn't add up to two cents if you can't get the bloody cards. ramp up production for pete's sake, im TRYING to spend my money.

Sapphire 3870 in stock at new egg this very moment for $219. I just ordered mine! Upgrading from a 7800gt that is struggling with native resolution of my monitor (1280by1024). By the way, I was signed up for auto notify but never received my message for this card. I just so happened to check back "just to make sure".

Yup, I did the same thing. I got my "auto notify" after I ordered it, lol. Since the 8800GTs aren't available, and when they are they're $280+, the 3870 is a great deal on newegg. They may go out of stock fairly quickly, I'm not sure. All I know is that they ordered 80 of the HIS-branded 3870's.

Did you cancel your order yet? If not at least someone else is on this damned deserted island with me. I just dont get it? Seems like every other person recieved theirs and they didnt even order the day of release. Well since we're stuck here what do ya wanna do, would could game, but thats obviously out of the question. :heink:

Thanks for the reply qmalik and vkaraoke. I wonder why they don't give out lifetime warranties the same way nvidia partners do.
