i have resently noticed that my memory as gone down from 3.5gb to 3.2gb. it should be at 4gb but im on xp, i am goin to update to win 7 soon.
i have allso resently installed x fi xtreme gamer allso my system is overclocked but ive never had this problem before
could this be because win xp cant do 4gb of ram and causing it problems or could it be that installing the x fi extreme gamer, this never happend before i installed it and my ram dropped after installing it, thanks for all your help

go to start, then run, then type cmd, and press enter:

once at the command prompt, type in "shutdown /r" and try to force a restart this time, and see if you still have problems.
