Check my sig. Do you think that upgrading to a 8800 GT from a x1900xt will be worth the $250? I would like to play Crisis at "good settings". We all know what that means. No jumping/lagging while running around (~30fps), and some eye candy to boot. Doesnt have to be the ultimate, but must look good.

Should I make the jump, or rather wait for the next gen cards that may be able to play the game at higher settings.

PS. Oh yes and of course - I have a 24" screen running at 1920X1200.

IMO wait for the next generation, but I think the 8800 gt could quite possibly do what you want it to

Do you think its more CPU dependent or GPU dependent?

ie. Q6600 + P35 = 20% increase in performance
or 8800GT = 40% increase in performance (random figures)

Fricken PC gaming sucks. Ive loved my PCs for 25 years. The hardware is just becoming too expensive.
