i am going on to wireless with a router, i want to use my pc and laptop do i need to add anything to my laptop other then the disc that comes with router, i am a complete novice with wireless, please advise.

You don't even need the disc which comes with the router.

Read the manual for the router, set it up to work with your internet provider. There may be help for setting up popular models of router on the ISP's home site and it may be a good idea to choose one of the models they list.

Then install a wireless adapter (unless your laptop already has wireless) and match its security settings to any you have set in the router (though I would always first disable security until you get a reliable connection).
