Is the q6600 really that bottlenecked by the 1066FSB I currently have a p965PT biostar tforce mobo and a E6300 but I love to upgrade when i can and this is the only thing I seem to need to upgrade i have a great psu,case,3gb ram XMS, 8800GT. Im just wondering the the 6mb cache increase and obviously the extra 2 core if I would see a noticable differnce in the new upcoming engines such as Unreal Engine, Crytek, blha blah. Right now I can play Gears of War at avg 49 fps according to fraps at full max 1440x900. Opnions please

I agree with itotallybelieveyou. An upgrade to Q6600 might show some improvement, but probably not enough to justify an upgrade, especially if you are mostly playing games, and not doing multi-tasking while playing.

I'd wait until the highly anticipated games are out before deciding if an upgrade is worth the money. A simple GPU upgrade might do more than a CPU upgrade (although, I don't think your 8800GT will struggle with upcoming games, much).
