Alright, here's a new one.  I don't know why I have such wonderful luck, but I do.

It all started this morning when I went to update my graphics drivers.  The latest drivers were killing my Purevideo decoding on my 7900GT, and the previous drivers I had were having some issues, too.  Nvidia support suggested I use driver cleaner to remove the graphics drivers completely, and then install the latest beta drivers.  I did so, and then things went to hell, for lack of better terms.  I now get a "limited or no connectivity" icon on all of my internet connections, even though I didn't mess with my chipset drivers.  I tried reinstalling them to see if that would fix the problem, but it didn't.  I reinstalled my original drivers for my 7900GT, but that didn't fix the problem.  I've tried doing system restores, but they don't work.

At this point, I was thinking that maybe driver cleaner removed something from the registry or something and that I might have to reformat, but I didn't want to jump that gun yet.  I have a 20GB partition set aside that I was going to install Linux on, but I hadn't yet, so I figured I'd just do a quick XP install and throw on my drivers and see if my network connections worked then.  If they did, I'd just reformat, and it wouldn't be too big a deal.  I tried getting into my BIOS, and when I do, my videocard loses its signal and I can't get anything.

Can somebody give me some sort of clue as to what the heck might be the problem here???  My configuration's listed on my profile if you need it.

My dear sir, I also have no idea what is going on. Without having much knowledge in this subject area, I would advise you to go ahead and install xp on that partition of yours.

That's the thing.  I need to get into my BIOS to change my boot priority for my system.  XP won't load off my disc because it checks my hard drive first... :(

If you're having problems with the video card, you might could try reseating it. That is, removing and putting it back into it's appropriate slot.

The videocard's working fine during everything except for dvd playback.  Purevideo was screwing up at that point, with the image being more or less scrambled depending on the driver.  That's what I originally wrote Nvidia's tech support about in the first place.  I told them what the problem was, and they've left me out to dry with the new "I can't get into my BIOS and I have no internet connection" issues.

again, try reseating the card. flash your bios (unless you've got a nice overclock stored).
if that doesn't work, get a different gpu and try to load windows that way, then once it's installed, switch it out for your other gpu.

Alright...reseated the graphics card and now I can get into my BIOS.  But, the board isn't letting me flash the BIOS for some odd reason.  And, I still don't have an internet connection.

Well, I have good news.  I got Windows installed, and my network connections work on that partition.  I guess I'll just have to reformat my other partition to get my internet back.  That should be fun...if anyone has any great ideas on how to fix things without reformatting, please let me know.  Thanks!!!

You should be able to do a repair install.
If you booted in safe mode, you should have been able to restart from the time before you updated the drivers.

On that primary partition, I would recommend rebooting into safe mode, uninstall the network device and then reboot into normal windows, reload the drivers for the network device and see if it won't work then. I would try this before reformatting and reinstalling.

geofelt:  I don't know if I can do a repair install or not, since my XP disc only contains SP1.  But I'll try it, definitely.

ailgatrat:  I tried doing that.  It didn't work.  I'm thinking it might have something to do with a deleted registry value or something, but I really don't know.

Do you have all the needed protocols instaled for net...tcp/ip and stuf. Maybe driver cleaner deleted them to...maybe. :)
