The Aspi32 service failed to start -
system cannot find file specified.
I clicked start - run -
then typed, aspi32,
There was no output to tell me what was wrong. Did I do it wrong?
You can't call a Service from the Open box - the command to use in there is services.msc then check in the list that ACPI32 actually appears there. If it doesn't, go back to the Open box and type regedit then hit Enter.
You're now in the Registry - Windows filing cabinet on which it totally depends so the first thing to do is back it up in case of accidents. From the File menu, choose Export and at the next form, use the date as a filename - 040410 and click Save.
Navigate through the Registry as though it was a Windows Explorer pane to find this key H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>System>CurrentControlSet>Services and if there's an entry for that Service, delete it and restart the computer twice. Please post back if that doesn't do the trick - we may yet need to hunt down the developer of that Service to find some up-to-date files.
