I've got my 1950Pro for few months now (before it I had 7600GT). So now I decided to do OC to my GPU.
For that I'm using ATi Tools , and when I move the slider (both) and then press " set clock " the PC hangs up. The screens become black , and then suddenly the monitor (226BW for the record) doesn't find the GPU (changes from analog -> digital and so on...) . Then I have to do a reset to unstuck the PC.
But , that only happens with ATi Tool. If I OC my GPU with CCC (ATi control centre) , then it doesn't hang up. It runs just fine.

Also , everything was fine with my old 7600GT , it oc'ed well with no hangs up. My pc specs. :
Athlon 64 3700+
1GB ram
Asus A8V VM SE
Club3D 1950Pro (Arctic Cooling cooler)
Samsung 250GB x 1 and 500GB x 1.
Windows XP + Windows Vista (dual boot).

How can I fix that? Thanks in advance.

PS: I tried in both XP and Vista , it hangs up in both.

Do you have the latest copy of ATI tools? It also could be that your system just doesn't like ATI-tools.

Just use other programs if it's causing too many issues.

LOL! Ok sorry , I didn't think for second and posted it quickly XD
There another program with a very similar name , and I thought about it .
Anyway , with what program I can OC my GPU beside ATi Tool?

Rivatuner is an excellent tool. You should read about all it's feature and how to use them.

I just sold my old system that used an Asus A8V Deluxe mobo with an x1950 pro AGP.  I could not get the card to over clock at all.  Every attempt led to a system hang or crash.  That card was crippled in AGP form at least, not temp sensors or fan speed control, even with ATI Tool, or ATI Tray Tools...

No, I didn't use the ATI Overdrive.  I tried every other O.C. program I could find though...

It becomes normal right away? Did you check the box for apply setting on start up?

If so try this: http://www.vaguesoft.com/users/dwo [...] rivatuner/

Under 'PowerUser', you may need force the driver. Before that, do you have the latest copy of Rivatuner? 2.8 came out.

Is the card AGP or PCIe?  What brand is it?

In AGP form the card had the additional third-party chip that converts PCIe to AGP and might have something to do with O.C.ing the card.  I'm not sure though.  Somebody who actually has sucessfully O.C.'d a PCIe version might have to chime in.

Also, I had a Visiontek card that had excellent cooling, but since there was no temp sensor the fan ran all the time.  I just assumed it was Visiontek that crippled the card.
