Such a thing as Firewire USB hub?

I built my new system a month ago. It has lots of USB 2.0 ports but no Firewire. I figured I would buy a PCI firewire adapter card so I can upload my digital camcorder movies. As I would rather cram less into my case given my high end video card churning out some heat, I've been wondering if there are USB hubs that you can plug firewire devices into? Anyone know of any? I've been searching but so far no luck.

Nope, no such thing. You'll have to get an add in PCI or PCI-e firewire card.

If such a device could exist(while theoretically possible but not practical), it would be slow first of all by being limited by USB speeds, plus it would have to have a bridge chip to convert it to firewire which would slow it down even further.

Hmmmm, I have a PCMCIA card with both firewire and USB on it, so it would seem logical that there could be one. Ahhh here it is.
