Hello Everyone,

I am using a RV042 router in my workplace. I have couple of computers and I need continuous internet at all times.

I have two internet connections from two different ISPs. My main aim is to have a backup facility that means if one isp's internet goes down the other one should come up immediately so there is no disruption of work.

The RV042 has 2 wan ports and I thought this machine will serve the purpose. But unfortunately there are a few problems.

If one internet goes down the router does not automatically switch to the other one. I have been facing this issue and have been doing a lot of troubleshooting for the last few days.

I have also upgraded the firmware to the latest version. The router only switches to the other ISP is I switch off my DSL's modem. And moreover I have to repair my LAN/Wan connection to start using the other ISP's internet.

Thus this device is not serving its purpose. Though I doubt if anything can be done but if anyone can give some guidance or advice , I would really appreciate it.

Linksys has confirmed that the switch to another wan port will be made only when the modem of the first port will be turned off. Man thats lame. I can't belive it.

Linksys has produced such a crappy product that I can't even imagine.
