ok should be obvious im new to this but i was running 500 gb sata on xp then now trying to add another 500gb sata drive as slave i reformatted at time of install everything looks good says its workin fine but 2nd one does not show up as my D drive just shows usual c and then d and e are my dual burners what did i do wrong any help or critisism will be well taken thanks

There typically isn't a master/slave setup with SATA. So, did you format both disks? And are they both plugged in? Power cables too? Do they both show up in BIOS or during POST?

Does the drive show up in BIOS? If so, you may need to control panel ->administrative tools -> computer management -> disk management and enable it.
