Q6600
Geforce 8800GT
2gb 800mhz ram (brand havent decided yet, probably kingston)

If possible, I don't want to spend more than 150$ but feel free to comment as you like. I am open to suggestions. I'll mainly use the system for gaming.

And yes, I am going to OC the cpu to 3.0ghz

Thanks

On a similar note (i have my spec below) my friend wants to buy my board, chip and ram.
I'm thinking 'why not' so i can get a better board, q6600 and some 1066 ram. Is this a good move right now or should i hold off for a board that supports 45nm chips and ddr2+ddr3? Correct me if some boards already do this please.
Also is it really worth moving up from 800mhz ram to 1066mhz??
$250 is about my limit for a board.

Take a look at the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R to see if it suits your needs. http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2524&ModelName=GA-P35C-DS3R

Thanks for the ram advice akhilles. Can you also tell me why this ram is good for my build? Why 2gb in one slot instead of 1+1?

Secondly, why are people choosing Giga P35 models when the TH reviews say MSI P35 Neo2-FIR is more suitable for overclocking?

Just noticed that DS3L is 40USD cheaper than a MSI P35 PLATINIUM. The think I loved about the MSI board was the pipes actually.
