Hi all, I just bought a Sapphire x1950pro, 512mb version for $140. This replaced my crapball x700 pro.

I picked this card after reading the best cards for the money for November.

Im poor and wanted to keep it under $175, and I dont mind staying a bit behind the latest and greatest technology.

I know there are better video cards out there and even a month from now the card I bought could be down as low as $100.

Overall the card runs great, major improvement to all my games.

The DX10 and DX10.1 are my concern, Will I be able to get at least two years out of this card as long as I stay away from DX10 games? Was this card an OK decison?

Thanks so much!

I think it was a poor decision. The new ATI cards came out this week with the lower end card projected to sell around $170. This card apparently knocks the socks off of the x1950pro.

Not saying the x1950pro is a bad card, I just would have looked into the price/availability of the new ATI cards before purchasing and you will get 2 years easy out of them. I'm not sure if you will with the x1950pro.

For 180 get the HD3850.

x1950pro is very nice card, just timing sucks - 3850 is better for the same price... If you'll get a chance to sell 1950 for similar price you bought - go for it without blinking ;)

Thanks guys!

Just RM AID the x1950pro.

New Egg = $20 dollar restocking fee.

Ordered the 3850!

Little more then what I wanted to pay but the cost increase is minimal for what I gain!
