I need help with my hard Disk. it make noise.

hello people!


well, i have the WD caviar SE WD2500AAKS (250 gb 16mb cache, sata 2) hard disk. Since the day that i bought it, when it reads information, it makes a noise like "tic tic" "tac tac" is not very strong but sometimes it's annoying.


Is it normal? because, the Hard disk has warranty, because i have to RMA it and its very annoying because i will stay without disk (and without computer) for many days.


i need your help!

Most likely it is normal. It depends on how loud it actually is. Would you still hear it if the radio was on?

I'd download WD diagnostic and run it to see if there is a problem.

no, it isnt very loud, but i dont undertand HOW the wd2500aaks makes noise and my old WD 80gb sata 2 8mb cache didnt do any noise.


i have downloaded the WD diagnostic and it says that i dont have any problem, all is ok....

Well you have three years to warranty it so if it is a bad hard drive you will find out soon !

Also the faster they go the more noise it will make if that makes sense

if its that loud get an rma, if it gets louder get an rma.
