I was using Nero 8 Burning Rom to burn an audio CD which was slightly over the 80min limit, I think 84ish. Nero asked me if I wanted to try overburn to burn the disc, but warned me that it could damage the disc or the drive. I did a quick google search and figured it would be O.K. or worse case I would loose the disc.

Well, the burn failed, and now my CD drive won't read audio CD's, or game disks. Just treats everything as a blank CD.

I have the log from Nero after the failed overburn if that helps. Is there any way to recover my CD drive?

Its a LITE-ON|LH-20A1S SATA (black) if that helps. Thanks for the help!

Ignore that douche, You could try and obtain a firmware update from NEC's site but otherwise your drive may well be damaged. Not the end of the world as a new one is dirt cheap but still annoying.
