resolution

I was using a 20inch widescreen monitor, it died out today. I plugged in my 15in back up and it says cant display screen mode since i had the resolution set to 1680x150 when by back up monitor only supports 1024x768. Is it possible to change the resolution in setup? What can i do?

Reset mobo? Reinstall XP?

Cant you just change it in the desktop? W/e you got it set to in desktop itll boot like that usually.
