What OS are you using? If it's not 64 bit, you're wasting money. 32 bit OS's are only going to recognize 2.7-3.5GB of RAM. So, go with 2GB if you're going to use a 32 bit OS.

If you aren't overclocking, get the cheapest quality ram.
I wouldn't do that. Just buy some Crucial Ballistix or something similiar that is cheap, but still gives you the option to OC should you desire it.

With that sort of CPU it would be a shame not to overclock. Get the Crucial Ballistix indeed, it's better than most. Maybe DDR2-1066 too, since you've got plenty of cash.

Agreed about 64-bit OS too: with a 32-bit system you have 768MB hidden right away and then the graphics drivers also consume a lot of RAM.

Get a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and a SFF21F fan for it.

A good PSU for your setup would be the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W Quad (or Quad Crossfire, it's identical but also has connectors for ATI cards, not just nVidia cards). If you intend to add lots of disks and fans and lights go for Thermaltake Toughpower 850W. You don't need 1000W.

Your system will be bottlenecked by the hard disk. Mind you, that WD7500AAKS is fantastic and I recommend it often. It's just as good as a Raptor and much bigger. Consider buying 2 or 3 of them and setting up RAID of some sort.

You can save some cash by getting a P5N32-E SLI 680i motherboard instead of the Striker. You won't lose anything useful IMO. Also look at eVGA 680i A1.

Also, if you decide to go RAID, get a hardware controller and not a software one. The software controllers will off some of the load onto the CPU which could cause you to run slower than you'd like.

ok i add'd
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad (Black) EPS12V 750W Power Supply

and

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA1065

Cant afford 4GB of Crucial Ballistix :S

i was thinking of Vista x64 but i dono this PC is for games i was reading that XP is stell better then vista for game's so stell thinking about it.

XP will give you better fps. In some cases MUCH better fps, in some just the same. Vista drivers are improving and this difference will go away in time.

XP has better drivers, i.e. fewer bugs, but again that difference will go away as more people start using Vista (and reporting bugs to nVidia and Microsoft so they can fix their stuff)

Vista has DirectX 10. Crysis for example does look better in DirectX 10. Other games like BioShock look very much the same under XP or Vista (i.e DirectX 9 or 10).

If you can get XP now and upgrade to Vista in a year or so, that's probably best.

Edit: and don't worry about the RAM, 2 GB is enough for gaming on XP. Just add two more right before you install Vista.
