Well,

It seems the crysis release has gone less than smoothly. If you head over to the EA website and go on to the crysis forums you will see what I mean. All hell has broken loose.

Several ingame bugs, which tbh is to be expected BUT this is nothing in comparison to the issues people are having with just getting th game on to their systems. CAB file errors, DVDs making dodgy noises etc. Also reported problems with Vista and x64.

Im glad I held off pre ordering. Was going to go into town and get it after work but I think I am going to hold off till next week and see what happens.

What are your thoughts?

Electronic Arts is notorious for this kind of stuff. I really liked the demo, but figured that something like this would happen. Give EA two or three years and this should all be sorted out, and hey, by then we'll all have computers that can run the game at very high settings!

I've lost respect for EA after they launched SimCity 4 with TONS of bugs.

"Ship Now Patch later" is what happens when CEOs buy their Porsches and then realise that the engineers need to get paid.

People who don't RTFM deserve everything they get. They tell you to disable virus scanners and turn off all background programs. :pt1cable:

I bought the game this morning and the only problem I've had (same as the demo) is when I go to start it I just get a black screen like it's starting to load but doesn't go beyong that. I've found that every time I start it I have to hit ctrl+alt+delete and open task manager and then close it and the game starts, wierd. As for gameplay it works great it's just that startup thing that's annoying. Also sometimes when I start it it opens in a window instead of fullscreen and I have to go into options and change it. I get 25-35FPS with everything on very high at 1280x1024 with the system in my sig.

with my system in the sig I have had one crash about 4 hours in, so I took my memory timings back up from 4-4-4-10 to their rated 4-4-4-12, and increased one voltage in my bios and the entire system is actually more stable. Im running 1440x900 res with medium detail except I have high pot effects on as well as high physics on and it runs decent. I havent looked at the FPS because I dont want to know, but it is playable and looks great. I am running it on vista premium 32bit, and I love the game! lol

Best,

3Ball
