Cant detect new devices???

Motherboard: asus striker extreme
When I put a new item in my motherboards 1st PCI slot it will simply read as Unknown Device. It says somethings there but It seems that either way my computer cant detect whats in the PCI slot. Then the second PCI bus doesnt seem to even function it simply has errors in the Device Manager for "WIA OHCI COMPLIANT IEEE 1394 Host Controller" then errors for Other Devices such as Intelligent I/O Controller and Mass Storage Controller. All of the followoing say to be part of PCI bus 2, except for the Mass Storage Controller in PCI bus 3. Right now im not too sure what to do...are there drivers I need to install for my motherboard??? Do I need to replace my motherboard???? Not sure please help

Install the motherboard drivers from the CDROM that came with it or get them from Asus' web page. Likewise, you'll need drivers from the CD's that came with any cards you add, or get them from the respective manuf. web pages.
