Hi. I recently formatted my 150 gig western digital hard drive and reinstalled windows. I also have a 500 gig wd which I want to keep the files. The problem is that windows tries to format the drive whenever i try to access it. Is there anyway to add this drive without formatting. Also I used the computer management which allowed me to see the hard drive on My Computer. Thanks in advance.

Did you have the 500 gig drive as a dynamci drive in windows? If so that is probably your problem. I have seen this happen with dynamic drives when you do a reformat.
So computer management wants to format the drive correct? Try the drive in another computer if you can and see if it works.
One thing I always do when reinstalling windows is disconnect any other hard drives that I want to keep data on, just in case.
