I am working with a company that uses ADP E-time. There are some computers that have consistent problems connecting to the ADP portal in a timely manner. They are all using IE8 - Windows XP SP3. I have contacted ADP and received assistance from their tech support; each tech seems to have their own version of what needs to be changed. I have looked at the common similarities among the PC’s that do not have a problem and I cannot find one. All I can tell is that Windows 7, IE8 or 9 seem to do better than Windows XP PC’s with IE8. I have tried this to trouble shoot this problem by using Java 6 u 7 and 6 u 17 as the techs have suggested. I also do their regular “fix” on PC’s as instructed by their technical support such as:
Making sure only one version of Java is installed (However this does not seem to matter on some PC’s)
Deleting the temporary files from the Java Panel.
Deleting the Temporary Internet Files in IE.
And deleting all off line content in IE.
This appears to help for a while but over time, the log in to the portal gets longer and longer for some of these users, which ends up having me go in and do the above steps again over and over.
I also have an issue with a Windows 7 IE9 machine.
