CPU-Z showing CPU:6...what does it mean?

I am new to overclocking and need help with a few things. First off I have an AMD 4600+ and am looking to bump it up to around 2.6 or 2.7. What steps do I need to take for overclocking this processor. Also I downloaded CPU-Z and it shows my CPU:DRAM as CPU:6....what does that mean...I am looking to go towards a 3:5.

My setup:
AMD 4600+ @ 2.4 stock
4GB Corsair XMS2 @ 4-4-4-12 2T 2.1v (4x1gb)
Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
Leadtek 7900GTX 512MB @ 650/1600

what do you mean it shows as CPU 6? can you take a picture? And set HT link to 4x and your memory to DDR 400 then change your CPU frequency to 217x12 to hit 2.6GHz any further and you may need to change your CPU voltage to hit 2.7GHz.

In my bios there is no option to change the HT link...I'm pretty sure anyways. Although I Am 1 version behind in my bios so I will update and check again. The screen shot I have posted is after I applied the settings you listed above. Now the FSB:RAM is CPU/12 as you can see. If I try over clocking past 2.6 in what increments do you recommend I adjust the CPU voltage?

dose this help? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/126122-29-guide-overclocking Increase the CPU voltage by .0125 until you get a stable setting. You may need to increase the Memory voltage after you are over it's stock settings includeing the HT link. seing that your CPU is 90nm I think 2.7GHz is as high as you can go with that unless you plan on upgrading to a different CPU like the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 Black Edition where you can hit 3.3GHz from 2.6GHz with out the worry about ram or HT voltage increase same gose for the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400 Black Edition and the Phenom 9600 Black Edition.

I'd suggest a whole different approach.Try setting back the memory to 5:6 (DDR 800) and then raise FSB by will without lowering the multiplier (in your case 12x).Feel safe about the memory since it is a beast. You may only need to inrease timings to 5-5-5-5 even though the 2.1V could be enough for such timings.I'll just post my setup for your convenience.Note that my mobo only allows 1.95V for VDimm but its cool since these corsairs have a nominal voltage of 1.9 .
As for the HT link i wouldnt worry about it..try checking in BIOS>advanced>chipset.Hope it's of some help.
Good luck.

Thanks guys for the help for the I will be trying both approaches this weekend and see what I can get. As of now I have Panthermans setup running @ 2.6Ghz with my Ram set to the same 4-4-4-12 timings (ran Prime95 for 16 hours and 30 minutes with no errors). Will start increasing voltages as soon as I peak on stock ones and will post pics early next week. Thanks again

I take back the term "whole diferent approach".What i wanted to point at was that you don't have to underclock your memory. You would have to only in case the RAM couldnt keep up the pace of OC. Since you are stable at 2.6 I'd only suggest set back to DDR800(CPU/6) which will give you 433Mhz(2600/6) instead of 217Mhz(2600/12).Then raise FSB until peak stable.I'm sure you can keep your tight timings as well.Good luck.

I know this is off topic now but what is better to run in Prime95...Blend..Small FFT...or Large FFT for the torture test in my situation?
