Sounds like a bad deal to me. You could probably build that from newegg for a little over half the price. They don't tell you what processor it is. Personally, I would never put 2 7300's in my computer. I would rather use one equally priced card. I'm sure they were using 'SLI' to try and get more money out of it.
November 9, 2007 11:40:41 PM

Very bad deal!! D:

You could build something pretty good with that money... quad core processor, a top videocard (7300 GT is really bad), and some other stuff.

If you know somebody that could help you with the build, you should ask. Otherwise you should ask here where to buy a nice pc at a decent price.

that thing isnt worth more than $800 and im sure it costs less.

I would notify craigslist/ authorities of this.
November 9, 2007 11:56:30 PM

They are looking for a sucker, don't let it be you. It is a POS.
For the same money or less, you could build a Q6600, Ultra 120 HS, P180 Case, P35-DQ6, 8800GTX, Ballistix DDR2 800 RAM, Silencer 610, DVD-RW. I know because I did.
November 9, 2007 11:56:46 PM

Wow, what a terrible deal. Either this guy selling it knows nothing about computer's or he's being very deceptive.
November 9, 2007 11:58:33 PM

that pos is worth 400 at max
November 10, 2007 12:24:22 AM

First of all, there isn't a 350GB SATA HDD made. It's either 400GB or 320GB.
Second, the 7300GT isn't made with GDDR3. The XFX card is GDDR2:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

Overall, it's not worth $1,700. I can build a killer q6600 system with a 8800GTX and 4GB of RAM for that much money.

Screaming, bold text for an entire sentence should tell you all that you need to know.

Oh, and the fact that somebody is spending ZERO dollars to advertise what they claim is NEW

November 10, 2007 1:09:00 AM

worst deal ever.
November 10, 2007 1:34:00 AM

hmmm, thought someone by now would be a turd and hit good deal. DONT BUY IT
November 10, 2007 1:39:56 AM

A word of advice my friend...q6600 and dual 8800gt's in sli is what you can get for $1,700. Good question to ask, cause if you didn't, you'd be out $1,700 dollars. Listen to what these guys are telling you; they know what they are doing. If you have never built before; do some research, make a list of parts, and post it on these forums and people will give you a load of help on it.

Here's a rule of thumb, do not buy computers off Craigslist. One in every 35-50 computers sold on Craigslist is a decent deal, the rest are rip offs plain and simple. In fact, my boss showed me a very similar PC on tigerdirect.com today, except it cost $400 and has a Pentium D 925. My boss thought it was an awesome deal until I showed him the VGA charts here for Oblivion at 1280x1024 where the 7300 GT scored like 3 fps!

Here take a look.

If you spend $1700 on that machine please do not reproduce, I've seen the movie Idiocracy and I don't want that to really happen.
November 10, 2007 2:39:31 AM

Thanks Everybody.
I will keep looking.
November 10, 2007 3:00:27 AM

WOW! That deal sucked. Glad we warned you off it before you gave that crook $1700. Sounds like he feeds off people who have not kept up with PC prices and trends. People looking in all the wrong places for a great 'deal'. There are no great deals. Buy from a normal channel.

Why not just build your own?

Great forum here and step by step videos at youtube/googlevideo.

You can build a very nice gaming machine for $600-650 through newegg and a few other online vendors.

Here is a quick parts list:

$82 - Intel e2160
$95 - Gigabyte P35 motherboard
$240-250 - Nvidia 8800gt 512mb
$50 - Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 2x1gb kit
$30 - Samsung or Pioneer DVD burner
$60 - WD or Seagate 250gb Sata hard disk
$30+ - Case with 120mm intake and exhaust fans
$50-62 - Corsair 450vx (buy.com)

And presto! Overlock the e2160 to 3.0ghz and you have a PC that will max most games (aside from Crysis) at 1280x1024 / 1680x1050 resolutions.
November 10, 2007 4:56:25 AM

with that money you can build a better machine, way better than that one.
November 10, 2007 6:31:05 AM

That's a great Idea, it would be fun to flame this thief. I'm in.
November 10, 2007 1:45:48 PM

I would like to flame that guy too. I hate it when people try to sell extremely over priced "gaming PCs" on craigslist.
November 10, 2007 2:08:01 PM

Wow!

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd put a list together from newegg and reply to his add with it.
November 10, 2007 4:03:20 PM

Where's the "This guy is a scam artist" flag? His douchebagery is going to get some poor sucker seriously ripped off.
November 10, 2007 6:13:18 PM

You can't reply to his add only email him, and the flags are useless. Weak.
November 10, 2007 11:41:30 PM

Flags are not useless, it says his add was removed due to flagging. It's no good though, he'll just repost it...
November 11, 2007 1:08:23 AM

Somebody actually voted this POS as a good deal?

Please raise your hand if you are guilty.
November 11, 2007 1:12:34 AM

I think some guy was just trying to be a douche...
November 11, 2007 1:48:51 AM

That's criminally ripping people off. Come on, claiming that system is worth 4,000 USD (not even would be that expensive when FX 62 first came out-probably). hahahahahahhahaha. I really hope people don't give this guy their hard earned money for something they will be highly disappointed in.
November 11, 2007 2:00:35 AM

Will whoever voted for "Good Deal" please not come back... seriously.
November 11, 2007 3:02:52 AM

Maybe the seller himself did it? lol...

This system isn't worth half of the price. I built a pc using q6600, 8800GTS, 320gb hd, Stacker832, 2gigs of ram all for $1000...3months ago. This guy should get slapped.
November 11, 2007 3:26:58 AM

The new ad has been removed already. I mean, it might be worth it if it was selling for $400.
November 11, 2007 3:33:51 AM

The link says it was flagged down.  Consider your self lucky truthseeker, the good ppl on this forum saved you $1600. Im sure we can all help you find a better computer for a lower price.
That thief got the boot & owned!

November 11, 2007 10:44:13 AM

I'm guessing that it violated craiglist terms of use for being a scam? They really should add the flag "scam", to make it easier to flag correctly.
November 11, 2007 11:40:08 AM

Yes, I wish they would

Or better yet, allow comments so we could give him the thrashing he deserves, and immediately render his add null and void.
