Just what the US needs a receiver standard so everyone knows what a
receiver should look like. And if the US joins they can get it for $79
Australian.

The problem is if you set a receiver standard people will expect
manufacturers to meet it. No can do with 8-VSB so far. Which is the main
reason the US has set no receiver standard. It is a circular thing.
Those guys sure are thinking of everything.

Is this a joke? We don't have a/v standards, DVD standards, CD
standards (as far as what the unit looks like) and nobody seems to have
a problem.
