Windows vista screen resolution

I have our screen resolution set to the highest setting and text is still fuzzy??

1024x768 makes resolution worse. My screen resolution bar only goes as high 1280x768. When I try to use Microsoft Works, I get a fuzzy message that the resolution is set below the recommended 1024x768. However, I have it set to the highest it will go which is 1280x768 ???? This problem just presented itself. I didn't change a thing. Any other answers will be appreciated.
