hello everyone, i am from australia and i am just curious to which manufacturer you would choose, there is ASUS, EVGA, Leadtek, BFG, XFX, GigaByte MSI, inno3d, foxconn, jetway, galaxy, and innovision

note: australia does not have the EVGA step-up program so it is no use suggesting that to me :wahoo:

my choices would be asus or evga

i am interested in the quality of the products and the bundle is not such a big deal but is a bonus.

the reason i ask this is i have no clue to which is the premier video card manufacturer that is a step above the rest..

any thoughts would be appreciated ;)

If prices are equal, I'd go with the better bundle and better warranty.

any reasons for your choice?

i am just wondering why does ASUS charge a premium on their video cards ($483 AUD) while the EVGA SC ($389) and EVGA KO ($419 AUD)

are they special? i mean come on, yes they have a game in the bundle and what else? any one care to comment on this?

thanks

BFG = excellent RMA and support
EVGA = good RMA and support with stepup (never used it)
ASUS was just the third because I was raised not to trust any of the other ones

I'd stay away from Jetway, Galaxy, Inno3d, and Innovision as they are not know as well as the rest of the companies. I would go with what ever one has the best warranty and lowest price. Evga also covers overclocking in their warranty. So dose ether Bfg or xfx (I'm tired and can't rember lol) The bundled games are also a bonus, Quake wars or crysis would be great.

I'd recommend XFX. Good cards and great warranty.

North American warranty, not sure about Australia

I will most certainly recommend EVGA.Even without the step-up program, you still get full life time warranty including overclocking.EVGA makes some of the strongest third party video cards to date.I can personally attest to their customer support, which is second to none.XFX has a good warranty as well, but again it has no step up program either.I started buying EVGA video cards a couple years ago,and I have to say that I've been very impressed with the cards.I'm awaiting a 8800GT at the moment. My plan is to get a second one in the early new year and run SLI.I'm not a fan so to speak,I just like to pass on the good fortune to others. When I find something that meets or exceeds my expectations,I like to let others know about it.Anyways, goodluck in your dicision.Hope you get something useful from all this.Later.

If it was me I’d go for the ASUS and here are my reasons why:
They have a brilliant warranty
They are very fast and don’t need to be OC’ed
And there reliability is well known to be the best…

My second choice would be XFX because
Warranty is ok
Very good performing card
Have got a few that came back (about 1 in 10 came back)

The rest I wouldn’t even consider...
