Dual booting with XP, does backup software conflicts with each other?

Here is a scenario:

Drive C has Vista, wich is the main OS
Drive D has XP
Drive E is where games are installed, sometimes while running XP, sometimes while running Vista

My goal is to install Western Digital Backup software, wich backups automatically full time as changes are made and configure it this way: backup everything in Drive E to a external HD. Will I need to install it on both OS?
