Greetings.

I have noisy/vibrating chassis fan on my Soyo SY-K7V DRAGON+ motherboard that is giving me some trouble. I've had this board for 5 years and it just started this behaviour a few weeks ago. When I touch the fan slightly the vibrating stops, but tightening the screws or the plastic pins beneath it does not make a difference. Can someone tell me a safe and good way to tighten or secure the fan so that the vibrating stops?

Here's a picture of the board:

It is the fan above the North Bridge.

Thanks for your time!

I'm no expert, but you should try a "Fan Silencer", which will serve as a buffer between your fan and your case and should hopefully stop the vibration.

If you cannot spend the money, maybe if you have a scrap piece of rubber you can slip it into where you think it's vibrating, or cut out pieces to attach where the screws are.

Just some ideas. They have fan silencers at FrozenCPU.com . I have never bought from them, but they seem like they know their stuff.
