i have 2 computer. and i want to upgrade old computer's ram
i currently use 512mb sdram pc3200.
does the speed of the ram matters?? as long as it is sd ram?

Of course the memory speed matters lol... faster the better... But if you want to add to the existing memory , buying faster
memory wont make any difference - the additional memory will only run at the same speed as the slowest DIMM present.

Check and make sure motherbaord supports any memory your going to purchase.

You can only upgrade to memory that's supported by your motherboard. Post your motherboard and I will try to find compatible RAM for you.

sorry i dont know the model #.. i couldnt find it on the board nor on the internet.. but has Via chip

i have pc 3200 and when i buy one more stick, i just hoping to work, doesnt matter what i buy.

Or look on mobo/center/top of keyboard/mouse at back - sometimes a sticker... POST screen shows mobo/chipset version too - at bottom.
