I am thinking of buying a evga 8800 gts i and i noticed it requires 24 amps on the 12v single rail. i ran a watt calculator on my computer and it came up with needing 600 watts total. i am running a biostar 6100-m9 socket 939 with a dual core 3800 2.0, two hard drives, one dvd burner and 2 gigs of a-data oc ram. i do a little oc'ing. i am curious if this power supply will handle what i need it to do.

Thats one dodgey looking PSU... its listed as Tier 4 in the PSU list and i wouldnt recommend it.

Look at a tier 1 or 2 psu... although the specs of that PSU match up ok, the components arent good quality. I would look at a CorsairHX520... if you want something a little cheaper look at Antec or Thermaltake as they are still decent quality.

On a side note there is no way that system will draw 600W as suggested by the "watt calculator" a strong 12v and ~500w will be plenty.

That PSU will probably work, but for me probably isn't good enough. When I'm dealing with $1000 of computer parts I want to be SURE that my PSU won't fry it (at least as sure as I can be).

Spend the extra 20-30 bucks and get a quality PSU from a trusted manufacturer. You will not regret it.
