Hey guys, I'm about to try something out with my rig and need some opinions about it.
Its just a small overclock, but I'm not sure which one will be better.

Multiplier: 8x, FSB: 333 = 2.66
Multiplier: 9x, FSB: 300 = 2.7

I'm pretty sure I won't need to change anything (voltages) except the FSB and multiplier with this small bump.

By better I mean performance/power consumption and stability.
I'm just taking one step at a time here before I mess with anything else.

Sorry if this is a noob post, but its been bugging my mind for a while these passed few days.

That looks pretty straight forward, but you can easily get 3.0 out of that Processor. After a few questions and answers... Get core temp 0.96.1 and list the VID and revision of your quad. What speed Ram do you have? if its 800, then just do the FSB 400 and a multi of 8 and sync the ram!

But thats just me, back to questions... what kind of cooling? That always helps, because some processors can get hot at 3.2! A G0 shouldnt get hot at all at such a low speed, so hopefully you have one of em at least! But some B3s are okay. I have one of each, and the b3 is HOT! To get the same temps from the g0 I need 3.8ish. So they OC differently... I am currently running the g0 at said 3.8 amd the b3 at 3.2 Both are fine.
Of course for 3.2 you'd need a lil vcore and prolly up the NB to 1.4 as is standard procedure! But that lets you sync your ram with the fsb and use it at 800 mhz too.

Right now I have OCZ Gold 2GB PC6400 (800) 5-5-5-15.
And my cooler is the HyperTX2.

Revision: G0
VID: 1.2500v

TJMax: 100C
Core0: 36C
Core1: 37C
Core2: 30C
Core3: 30C

I'll probably attempt over 3.0Ghz later on when I need it. For now I just need a small boost for a program.

You have a decent VID processor, and its a g0, so you are safe to do whatever you want at those low speeds. Your G0 is better than mine! So thats something, huh?

Anywho, I'd still go with 400 x 8 for 3.2 so you can sync the RAM, but if all you want is 333, then that should be even easier. Your VCore at either setting should be minimal, and so should your heat.

Wanna trade your g0 for mine? Its a 1.2625 VID, hehe. I should be able to get to 4.0 with yours, only 3.8 with mine! Waaaahhhhh! Woe is meeeeee!
