I just installed a 9700 on my 780i. Anyone use this combo? I had to push down really hard to get the s clip in. The heatsink also moves even tho it's mounted. This is my first build so I want to make sure this is normal. Any advise or help would really be appreciated.

Some movement is expected. I had one and you are right, it Locks on good, but has a little bit of movement, though its securely attached. So as long as it doesnt turn enough to lose contact with the side of the processor, I'd say its fine. Just be sure its pressing very firmly against the CPU itself. Thats what matters. If its mounted loosely in a manner where it disrupts contact with the processor, or you think it COULD... re mount it! Mine was very obviously attached against the CPU, though it swiveled, which scared me!

After attaching the cooler, it's not wise to start randomly twisting it. As long as it's firmly secured to the motherboard, it's fine.
