Which Graphics Card

I have purchased a X38 chipset Asus Maximus Formula Board.Plz can anyone tell me that is it a good board and which graphics card is the best to use for this board?

My budget is $260 to $ 290 and I m a casual gamer??

Antarescomputinginc has an evga 8800gt for $296 shipped (pricewatch) running at 1800 hertz (superclocked). For a budget, several brands of the 8600gt are available at newegg for around $80-90 after rebate. Evga offers a lifetime warranty on some cards. For the 8800gt, your power supply will have to be rated 22-26 amps on the 12v rail(s). If more than one 12v rail, I would go for 18 amps minimum on each rail.

others worth a look are the HD3850 and 3870... as the x38 is a crossfire board you maybe able to utilise that later on and the HD3870 will be close performance wise with the 8800GT and cheaper

it is a good board, find a 3870 if possible, or a 8800GT. If you can't find either, get a 3850 if you can't wait.
